The Quiksilver Foundation is proud to announce for the month of November, Bob McKnight, Kelly Slater and over 100 Quiksilver employees will put down their razors and grow out their “mo” (Australian slang for moustache) in support of Movember to help raise awareness and money for the fight against Prostate Cancer.

Quiksilver team riders Dane Reynolds, Travis Rice, Tom Carroll, Reese Forbes, Jeff House, Strider Wasilewski, Tom Carroll and top-level management, Greg Macias and Randy Hild join Bob McKnight and Kelly Slater in a righteous effort to grow out their “mo” during Movember, the month formerly known as November. At the end of the month proceeds from the individual “mo” sponsorships will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation whose single goal is to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

“The Quiksilver Foundation is proud to be a part of Movember. Men’s health as a cause has always been hidden away in the shadows, and Movember is bringing it out into the light. It’s a great way to raise awareness and support prostate cancer research and prevention. We’re so stoked that our riders, employees and executives have joined together in making “Team Mo Daddy” the largest participating team,” said Quiksilver Foundation International Foundation Liaison, Katrina Long.

108 dedicated Quiksilver Movember participants, known as Mo Bros, have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache while increasing awareness and raising money for critical research for prostate cancer.<

While growing a Mo is left to the guys, Mo Sistas (ladies that support their guys or just love Mos) form an important part of Movember with their powerful feminine touch, by recruiting Mo Bros, helping to raise funds, and attending the highly anticipated Gala Parties in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Aspen.

Why the extreme behavior? 1 in 6 American men will develop prostate cancer. This year, more than 218,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer - that’s one new case every 2.5 minutes - and we’ll lose nearly 30,000 men from the disease this year alone.

“The aim of Movember is to raise awareness about the greatest men’s health issue today by putting the ‘Mo’ back on the face of American men and, in the process, raising funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation,” says Adam Garone, co-founder and North American Operations Director. “Movember is a great way for men across America to give a Mo a go, indulge in a little male bonding, have a good laugh, and do something positive for prostate cancer at the same time!”
